Registered Massage Therapy
Servicing Temagami and Bear Island
Announcement - Temporarily Closed
Effective August 1, 2021
As many of you know, when the pandemic began I had to close my massage practice in Temagami. During the past year, I enrolled in a full-time Osteopathy program in Hamilton, which I have been attending online. Recently, the school announced that class delivery will return to in-person, which will require me to relocate temporarily to southern Ontario.
Today, I am announcing that I will not be returning to work until late 2022, as I will not be practicing massage therapy during my school semesters.
If at all possible, I would have chosen to keep my massage practice open while I am in school, but unfortunately I have come to the realization that this is not possible. By prioritizing my education for the next year, I will come back with a higher understanding of the human body, and be able to provide a higher level of care.
I appreciate your patience and understanding during this time, and I am sincerely looking forward to seeing each of you again. I will be reaching out to each of my clients by email to provide you with a referral for another Massage Therapist in the interim. This decision was very hard to make, but I am optimistic that with a paired service of Osteopathy and Massage, I will be able to better serve you all.
Katie Laronde, RMT
Hi everyone, my name is Katie and I am so excited to be working back in my hometown Temagami! I left Temagami in 2013 to study Massage Therapy at Georgian College in Barrie, and now I am back to stay. I became interested in Massage Therapy because I wanted to help people. I enjoy using deep tissue techniques in my treatments to better help my patients recover from their injuries. Being a part of the next generation of RMTs, I hope to bring a new perspective to Massage Therapy and help empower my patients by educating them about their conditions and what they can do at home to help facilitate the healing process. My areas of interest include chronic pain management, injury recovery, and adhesion release. To view credentials and post graduate education click here.
